Overnight, Elijah had issues with bleeding. His starting nosebleeds in the evening but they seem to stop on there own. His platelet count was right on the edge to require a tranfusion (his was 8000-- normal range is 150,000-450,000.) During the night, his lip started bleeding and his nose was bleeding off and on. His platelet count dropped again and they started a transfusion about 4 am.
Thanks to all of you who have ever been able and willing to give blood and platelets...there are 16 kids here on this unit alone who need you and are grateful for you.
