We are not on the road yet and have hit a couple of potholes...Elijah is sick..woke up with a cough and thick yucky nose. He is immune deficient and so this becomes a big deal immediately. We were planning on borrowing some of his supplies to get Isaac home (like his feeding pump.) But, since Elijah will need these most likely, we can't borrow from him as planned. Even though Elijah gets sick very often, he hasn't been this sick all winter! I trust his nurses will be able to handle his issues here just fine. Each of them knows him and his doctors well and Elijah will be in great hands.
And, we had our first sick nurse call in this morning at 6am. Hoping that will be the end of those until we get back. But, around here, if a nurse is sick, they can't come in...We have lots of back up staff that have agreed to help us out. So both of these situations should just be bumps in the road.
Our medical supply company just called to let us know that they can provide us with the equipment we need for Isaac since he will be a patient of theirs as soon as we get back in town. They are on their way! We are still on schedule to leave this afternoon...
